About Me:

The voice guiding you through this website!

To tell you the story of my teaching portfolio, a deeply personal project, I thought it would be appropriate to first introduce myself. My name is Ashly Paulino and I have just completed my Master’s in English. I am a first-generation, low-income, Afro-Latinx scholar. My work—personal, academic, and professional—has always been intertwined with and centered around educational equity. It isn’t unusual for me to start the day as a student and end it as an educator trying to put systems in place to ensure that all students have equal opportunities to succeed. While just a small sample of the many jobs I have worked within the field of education, I think these experiences highlight not only the motivations that structure this project, but also the values that guide it.
